air hunter/air hunting 捕风捉影

2023 - 2025

Shenzhen (2025), Melbourne (2024), Kyoto (2024), San Miguel del Allende (2024)

This project began with human ambition and found its way into the strange territory of unclaimed inheritance. It hasn’t fully landed. Since it began, hot air balloons, eggshells, balancing acts, they have taken on a permanent space in my work. Air hunting is a thinking process for me to suspend the meaning of materials by testing them in various sites and social context. Traveling with lightweight lacquer assemblages to Mexico, Japan, Melbourne and back to China, I find social ways to apply them into new settings.
